Data Hosting - Setup for Accountants and Associates

Cashbook Data Hosting   allows for the easy sharing of Cashbook data between the owner and other parties e.g. the accountant. When one party opens a hosted company, the data is locked to the other party. Only the party that has opened the company can make changes. When Cashbook is closed, those changes will flow back to an online database, ready for when the company is next opened.
This provides a very fast, convenient and seamless transfer of data between consenting parties. It eliminates the need for manual backing-up and restoring data between client and accountant. This also means that data can be effectively stored even with low quality internet connection.

Setup procedure for an accountant or an associate:

Step 1.  Activate Data Hosting Account

Both  the Client and Accountant/Associate must activate a data hosting account. See  Data Hosting - Activate Data Hosting Account .

Step 2. Host Cashbook Company

Ask Client (the host) to host his/her Cashbook company data file. See  Data Hosting - Adding a Hosted Company .
Note: An accountant may only require the current financial years data.

Step 3.  Decide if you wish to:

Option (a)  create a "new" company file for the client data to be hosted, or
Option (b)  use an existing company file and convert it to a "hosted" client.

Procedure for each option:
Option (a)
Ask Client to send an invitation to the Accountant/Associate. (i.e. share their company file with another user.) See   Create Invite/Enable another User Access to your Company File .
Accountant/Associate then need to accept the invitation from the Client. See  Accept an Invitation .
Option (b)
