Option 1: To set a bank account so it is always the account that appears first when you open Cashbook

  1. Click on the Chart toolbar icon.
  2. Click on the Banks tab.
The order in which a bank account is listed in Cashbook is determined by the account code. Make your main bank account numerically first.

For Example: The main bank account for this business is CBA Working Account. It currently has an account code B03, which numerically falls after B02. If we were to open Cashbook, the CBA Online Saver account would be the first to appear.



  1. To make the CBA Working Account the default Cashbook bank account:
    1. Click on the B03 CBA Working account, so it is highlight blue.
    2. Click on the Edit button.


  1. Change the account number so it is numerically first, e.g. from B03 to B01.
  2. Click OK to save.


  1. Make sure all windows are closed before you open Cashbook, this will initiate changes.
  2. Click on Cashbook toolbar icon. 
  3. CBA Working account is now the default bank account in Cashbook.

Option 2: Setup bank account to be Default Payroll Account and SuperStream Account

  1. Click on Chart toolbar icon.
  2. Click on the Banks tab.
  3. Click on the bank account to select.
  4. Click on the Edit button.
  5. Tick the Default payroll bank check box to make this the bank account wages are paid from.
  6. Tick the SuperStream Account check box to make this the bank account superannuation via SuperStream is paid from.
  7. Click OK to save.
