How do I delete a bank account?

Detailed Description

You can only delete a bank account if:

  1. It has a zero balance; and
  2. It does not have any transactions relating to it in the current financial year.

 

To check to see if a bank account has a zero balance:

  • Click on Setup > Opening Balances > Bank Accounts menu option.

 

  • Select the Bank you wish to delete from the drop down list.
  • Check to see if it has a zero balance.

 

To delete a bank account:

Step 1

  • Click on the Chart tool bar option (or the Setup > Chart of Accounts menu option)

 

Step 2

  • Click on the Banks tab.
  • Click on the bank account so it is highlighted blue to select.
  • Click on the Delete button.

  • Click Yes to the following Confirm message:
