Invalid Database Level When Restoring Data

Cashbook Platinum

If an error message is received stating that the database level of data trying to be restored is at a higher level than the existing data, this may be due to the fact that the current data was not upgraded successfully when Cashbook was last installed

This can be tested by doing the following:

  • Close Cashbook Platinum
  • Right-click the Cashbook Platinum icon on the Desktop,  and click on Open file location
  • Locate the UpdateStdData application (indicated below)

iv. Double-click on the application
v. Wait for approximately 10 seconds and re-open Cashbook Platinum
vi. Select Yes to upgrade the database if prompted
vii. Continue using the program as usual

If still encountering problems trying to restore data, the most likely cause is that the version of Cashbook is older than the version the backup was taken from. This can be fixed by upgrading to the latest version.

If this doesn't fix the problem, please contact Practical Systems on 1800 624 688
