Land Value is Not Appearing in Trial Balance

Cashbook Platinum

If the land value doesn't appear in the trial balance, it relates to the business structure of the company/enterprise, i.e. the asset-owning/trading structure.

For example: In the case of a family discretionary trust structure, where the assets ie. a business, an investment or a property of the family are held by a trustee (usually the parents) on behalf of the trust beneficiaries (their children and any other dependents), the asset and trading operation are separate.  While the trust is not a separate legal entity, it is a separate entity for tax purposes. Therefore, when entering Opening Balances into Cashbook, land values should only be entered, as an Asset, into the Management section, not the Accounting.

Note: opening balances should only have to be entered once when first starting to use Cashbook, as they are maintained automatically by the system thereafter
