I am adding a transaction but the program won't generate a new reference number.

• The Cashbook program is designed so reference numbering occurs sequentially, from the last transaction entered.
• E.g. If the last transaction was cheque number 00107, so the next one is automatically numbered 00108.

• If your next transaction entered has a different Reference eg. EFT, the next transaction entered after that will automatically default to EFT.
• If you click on the Reference drop down arrow, the sequential cheque number is listed.

• If you enter a cheque number that already exists, Cashbook will notify you with a message similar to this, to avoid duplication:
